Kuwait, April 13, 2009 - The Soor Center for Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy today announced that it has opened its first clinic in Kuwait. The center is located on Soor Street in Kuwait City on a private floor of a luxury office building with a panorama view of Kuwait city and the Arabian Gulf. Dr. Jaafar Behbehani and Dr. Naif Al-Mutawa will direct the clinical operations of the new center.

The center offers a range of qualified and licensed psychologists. All therapists at The Soor Center are individually licensed to practice or directly supervised by a licensed clinician. This is the first clinic in Kuwait owned by fully licensed doctorate level clinical psychologists.

Dr. Jaafar Behbehani, clinic director said, "Creating the Soor clinic has long been my dream. Dr. Naif and I have been planning the clinic for more than two years. His drive and his knowledge of business made him the ideal partner to turn my dream into a reality."

Dr. Naif Al-Mutawa said, "I am thrilled to be partnering with Dr. Jaafar Behbehani. He will always be my teacher. He trained me, supervised my advanced education and made sure I got the best, most well balanced education possible. He insisted that, after receiving my doctorate I get licensed to practice in the US. Dr. Jaafar has always represented the highest ideals of our profession and it is an honor to be partnering with him."

Dr. Fuad Hassan, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Kuwait University said, " It is a real pleasure to see the launch of this center. I am especially proud that it is being led by some of the best and brightest minds ever to teach at our Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Jaafar is an institution in Kuwait's psychology practice. After being selflessly involved in launching several initiatives for the Kuwaiti government including the Riggae Center for Trauma and the Social Development Office, I wasn't surprised that he was launching a private practice. Its about time!"

Dr. Fuad added, "I have watched Dr. Naif's rise on the global stage over the last few years through his writings and the popularity of THE 99, the superhero role models he created for our children. Headquartered in Kuwait, The Soor Center's staff of multi lingual male and female psychologists will help clients navigate the stresses of today's complicated lifestyles.
