Dr. Naif Al-Mutawa is an award-winning serial entrepreneur, and the founder of The Soor Center for Professional Therapy and Assessment, Kuwait’s leading professional source of a broad range of psychological services. A licensed psychologist in the State of New York, he is certified by the National Guild of Hypnotists. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, and is an Associate Fellow of the Albert Ellis Institute.
Dr. Naif has over 25 years of clinical experience. He specializes in helping clients overcome depression, stress, anxiety, grief, trauma, anger, phobias, social problems, hallucinations, and panic attacks, among other mental health issues. He offers therapy to adults, adolescents, and groups in English and Arabic. He also offers hypnotherapy for a wide range of issues, including the cessation of smoking and unhealthy eating habits. An Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology, Dr. Naif is a member of the academic staff at Kuwait University’s Faculty of Medicine, where he has been teaching clinical psychology, communication skills creative writing, and cognitive behavioral therapy since 2005.
Dr. Naif has a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University where he also earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology. He holds a Masters in Organizational Psychology from Teacher’s College, Columbia University and an MBA, also from Columbia University. He holds a certification in conflict resolution from Columbia University. He earned his undergraduate degree from Tufts University, where he triple majored in clinical psychology, English literature and history.
